About Balochistan AIDS Network

 

The Balochistan AIDS was established in 2000 in Quetta with the support of NACP and UNAIDS to fight against the epidemic of HIV & AIDS and got registration on 21st February 2004 under Societies Act 1860.The Balochistan AIDS Network is a Network of 48 member Organizations working all over Balochistan having representation even in the grass root levels of Balochistan in which 46 member organizations are Local and 2 INGO’s i.e. Mercy corps and Save the children US included (To see detail available in NGO Directory).

News & Event

WORLD AIDS DAY

Balochistan AIDS Network has been celebrating the World AIDS Week & day for last few years to show solidarity with those who are infected and affected with HIV & AIDS particularly in Balochistan and generally in Pakistan. This year also BAN decided along with the other organizations that not only one day will be celebrated but it would encompass the whole week celebration by incorporating all the stakeholders whether they are upward level (Government, Policy level) ………

Consultative workshop with MARA&EVA

A consultative workshop was conducted with MARA& EVA (Most at Risk Adolescents and Especially Vulnerable Adolescents) at Boy Scout Quetta on 26th November, 2007. It was in the series of International World AIDS Day one week activities specially focusing the children from different organizations living in high risk conditions. The purpose of the workshop was to identify the issues by the children and also their solutions as to keep those findings at Provincial dialogue the concerned authorities. 

Provincial Dialogue on MARA &EVA Findings 

A Provincial Dialogue was also conducted at Serena Hotel on 28th, November, 2007 in the pursuance of celebrating one week activities regarding International AIDS Day. This dialogue incorporated all the key stakeholders to participate in justifying the self identified issues by the children at MARA&EVA workshop. The aim of this dialogue was to accept the issues and devise strategy or structure of intervention as cross cutting theme in different developmental initiatives by different organizations. The dialogue was very well facilitated by BAN staff and successfully accomplished.

 Mega Seminar on International World AIDS Day

Mega Seminar was also conducted on 1st December, 2007 to show solidarity with the people infected or affected with HIV&AIDS. This seminar was conducted at Balochistan Boy Scout Association Quetta in which there were many participants coming all around from different organizations. The Chief Guest of the event was Provincial Minister for Health Dr. Attha Muhammad Kakar and the Co guest was head of UNHCR Mr. John. In Seminar some of the speaker did their presentation which was basically focused on HIV&AIDS and really appreciated and liked by the audience.
