About BAN

The Balochistan AIDS was established in 2000 in Quetta with the support of NACP and UNAIDS to fight against the epidemic of HIV & AIDS and got registration on 21^st  February 2004 under Societies Act 1860.The Balochistan AIDS Network is a Network of  48 member Organizations working all over Balochistan having representation even in the grass root levels of Balochistan in which 46 member organizations are Local and 2 INGO’s i.e. Mercy corps and Save the children US included (To see detail available in NGO Directory).

BAN was working from 2000 on volunteer basis by conducting seminars, workshop & different events on HIV/AIDS. In 2004 European Commission and Department of International Development, UK has funded a project to fight against HIV in Pakistan known as “TAMEER Project”. The funding was awarded to Interact Worldwide, UK by European Commission (EC) and Department for International Development (DFID). who further established linkages with the HIV/AIDS Consortia of Pakistan to implement this project.  TAMEER project is being implemented in Pakistan through, Pakistan National AIDS Consortium (PNAC), Balochistan AIDS Network (BAN), Sindh AIDS Network (SNNHA), Punjab AIDS Consortium (PAC), NWFP AIDS Consortium (NAC) & Northern Areas AIDS Control Consortium (NAACC) by the continued technical support of Interact worldwide Pakistan (IWP) and the financial Support of European Commission (EC) and Department for International Development (DFID).

The Balochistan AIDS network was established in order to facilitate, Collaborate and cooperate with the Organizations working in Balochistan for the fight against HIV & AIDS and other infectious diseases and make a bridge for communication between and among the member organization, International Organizations and government and provide the member organizations with the technical assistance when needed and built the capacity of the organizations working in the grass root level
